From the moment you enter, the scent of spirit teas and old pages fill the air. Cozy corners and melodies of conversation persuade you to take a seat and make a new friend.

Don’t miss Chattanooga’s newest gem, The Reading Room. Owner Linden Marno-Feree has created a space that seamlessly blends a bar and a bookstore. Literature and conversation flourish in the Olde Town section of Brainerd.

A New Chapter for Chattanooga

Marno-Feree brings her experience in bookselling and bartending together to create a space unlike any others. This hybrid model combines the charm of a relaxed bar with the accessibility of affordable literature.

Beyond the books and barstools, the space also gives back. Books are sourced from the Chattanooga Public Library Foundation, and a portion of every book sold returns to the foundation. It is a full-circle model that reflects the generosity of its owner and proves that small ideas can spark meaningful impact.

Sip, Read, Repeat

Visitors ease into the night with house-made cocktails, like the Dolores and El Diablo pictured above. Other options include locally brewed beer, THC-infused drinks, or a rotation on non-alcoholic mixed drinks. Whether you sip something bold or fruity, every drink feels like a part of the story.

Between the Shelves

Every corner of The Reading Room feels like a story waiting to be told. The floor-to-ceiling shelves are lined with well-loved novels and art books arranged to look intentionally casual. Vintage chandeliers softly light exposed brick and mismatched furniture, highlighting the character and lived-in charm of the space. The cozy atmosphere, local music and artwork, and used books turn a simple night out into an authentic Chattanooga experience.

Culture in Motion

The Reading Room doubles as a creative hub for Chattanooga's growing art community. Visitors are welcome to join in on events such as book clubs, art classes, clothing swaps, readings and more!

Open from noon to midnight, Thursday through Sunday, The Reading Room offers visitors a place to relax, read, and connect. During the day, gentle conversation hums through the air as guests enjoy locally roasted coffee and tea. The fun continues after dark as the space transforms into a vibrant social hub filled with laughter and clinking cocktails.
